I sat in my usual seat, the farthest chair from the teacher, against the wall,. Trying to pay attention, I copied down the notes from the board while secretly, functions and f of x were the last thing on my mind. I hadn't been focused much latley and was slacking off in school more than I typically did. The move had distracted me and was throwing me off. Caught off guard, I squirmed when someone near me tapped my shoulder...

I walked into class late and took a seat in the back. I was trying to keep my new school year resolution to do well in school, but it wasn't exactly working. That stupid Maddy girl's conversation with me kept playing in my head and it was pissing me off. I sighed and tapped Miranda's shoulder. "Hey," I whispered, "What are we doing?"

I turned around suddenly and noticed it was the Sam guy Alice had attempted to set me up with. I sighed then leaned over and pointed to my paper, "All that f of x crap," I said. "That's honestly all I know." I said. Turning back aroud I whispered, "Why were you late?"

I shrugged. "Didn't get up early enough," I lied. Honest answer? I was sitting in my room attempting to write a song. And I was practicing my apology to Melanie because, well...I need to apologize to her.

I laughed, "Nice. Wish I could pull that off," I said as the teacher walked over and yelled at me for talking. Rolling my eyes as she walked off I mentally cussed her out in my head.

I grinned and pulled out a piece of paper. I started taking the notes that were on the board. I ripped off a corner of the paper and wrote a ntoe on it.
did you have fun at the dance?
I slid it onto Miranda's desk.

dances aren't my thing.
i noticed you were a no show.
I wrote back and passed the paper to Sam before the teacher could catch me. Smiling innocently at the teacher, she gave me a weird look before continuing her lesson.

Turning the paper to find more room to write, I replied.

I laughed quietly then drew a smiley face on my hand.

The bell rung and I stood up as I tossed the note in my purse and looked at Sam, "I was just wondering."
